Daltonganj, Nov. 15: A Haryana driver, Rahul (25), was crushed to death in his car on Sudna Gayatri Mandir road last night around 9 p.m.

The police informed that the car was on its way from town to Bairya More. It hit a roadside transformer pole and then the transformer together with the pole, collapsed on the roof of the car, first breaking Rahul’s skull and then reducing the car to rubble.

After a tremendous deal of effort, Rahul’s mutilated body was recovered from the damaged vehicle.

The transformer has also been severely damaged in the accident. Due to this, supply of electricity in large areas near the accident site remained affected.

According to sources, the electrical department will have to install a new transformer today, which could delay its commissioning.
