Hazaribag, May 2: 11-year-old Suraj Kumar, son of Ashok Bhagat, a resident of Guri of Dhothwa Panchayat but at present living in Chatti of Katkamsandi succumbed to his injuries on Monday evening making his father lodge an FIR against the driver of a car for rash and negligent driving.
Family sources said Suraj was going to bring goods from a nearby shop on Sunday, April 30 at around 7 am, when a car having registration number JHO2G-2951 which was coming at a high speed from Hazaribagh town side hit him. Suraj died in Ranchi sparking grief in his village.
Sources said he was seriously injured in the mishap and was immediately taken to a nearby health centre in Katkamsandi but was referred to Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College Hospital and from there he was referred to RIMS, Ranchi.
Suraj died on Monday during treatment at Ranchi.
His father Ashok Bhagat, then has given in writing to Katakamsandi police accusing the driver Rajkumar a.k.a Raja son of Krishna Yadav of village Kanchanpur for drunken driving and accident due to negligence. A case was registered in Katkamsandi numbered 73/2023, under sections 279 and 304. When Katkamsandi police station in-charge Anand Azad was asked about the incident he said that a case has been registered against the driver of the vehicle. We will arrest him soon, he said.
