The recovery was made on Gadia-Amkudar road under Rajpur police station. The consignment is worth Rs 10 lakh.

Sources said that on the instruction of the Superintendent of Police Rakesh Ranjan, a team of CRPF and police was set for an anti-Naxal operation in the Rajpur area. The team was led by sub-divisional police officer Avinash Kumar and CRPF 22 battalion assistant commandant Paramjit Kumar.

SDPO Avinash Kumar who led the team with the assistant commandant confirmed the recovery. He said that the input came about the Maoists in the Rajpur area after which on instruction of the Chatra SP team sent here to carry out a search operation.

During this, a vehicle checking drive started and soon a bike was seen coming. As the police team asked two men riding the bike to stop, the duo fled from the spot. “We are trying to identify the two men who escaped,” added Kumar.
