Barhi, May 14: After the strictness of the state government, Hazaribagh DC Nancy Sahay has given instructions to completely ban illegal sand mining in the district. But illegal sand mining is going on indiscriminately at the Kargaio river ghat of Kolhuakala in Barhi.

Giving information, Vinod Yadav, a social worker of Kolhuakala of Barhi, told that the sand mafia runs fiercely on the Kargaio river ghat of Kolhuakala. They neither fear the officials nor care about the action of the mining department. Hundreds of tractors of sand are being illegally excavated daily by installing JCB on the river ghat. An attempt was made to complain to the local officials in this regard, but they could not be contacted. He has demanded action from the concerned officials in this direction.

Notably, for the prevention of illegal mining, the Mining Department and the Zonal Office have raided many times and taken action. Despite this, the transportation of sand continues unabated. As a result, sand vendors are selling sand in the dark of night. Due to this, the common people are forced to buy sand at triple and quadruple rates. Due to no concrete decision of the government in this direction, on one hand, there is a loss of revenue, on the other hand, many sand vendors are becoming unemployed.
