Jamshedpur, Sept 28: Hazrat Muhammed’s birthday was celebrated with the traditional gaiety in the steel city on Thursday.
During the festivity, also called Eid Miladun Navi, processions were taken out from different localities to reach Dhatkidih in Bistupur where a congregation of revellers was formed for religious discourse given by the spiritual leaders.
The processions that emerged from localities like Jugsalai, Mango, Azadnagar, Telco, Bhalubasa, Shastrinagar, Sonari and Parsudih were attended by people of all age groups.
As the revellers were carrying religious flags on two-wheelers and cars, the streets leading to Dhatkidih had turned colourful. Religious songs pertaining to the Hazrat Muhammed resonated in the streets the processions passed through.
On this occasion, the administration had put a restriction on the movement of heavy vehicles in the steel city. The district police had also made elaborate security arrangements so as to ensure a peaceful celebration of the Hazrat Muhammed’s birthday.
Prior to the celebration of the Eid Miladun Navi, the Senior Superintendent of Police, Kaushal Kishore had instructed the OCs of all the police stations across the city to hold peace committee meetings at their respective police stations to ensure peaceful celebration of the Hazrat Muhammed’s birthday.
