Jamshedpur, Oct 2: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued a forecast of heavy rain in as many as seven districts of Jharkhand today.
A bulletin issued by Ranchi Met Centre suggested heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places over the state’s Lohardagga, Gumla and Simdega districts.
Heavy rain is also likely at isolated places over the state’s Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra and Latehar districts today.
Weathermen also did not rule out the possibility of thundershowers and lightning in isolated areas today.
Meanwhile, the well-marked low-pressure area over southeast Jharkhand and adjoining areas of Gangetic West Bengal and north Odisha moved northwestwards and lay centred over western parts of Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Jharkhand.
It is likely to move further northwestwards slowly during the next 24 hours.
A trough runs from the above cyclonic circulation associated with the well-marked low-pressure area over western parts of Gangetic West Bengal to East Uttar Pradesh at 0.9 km above mean sea level.
The Met Office also predicted heavy rain in several districts tomorrow and the day after.
