Ranchi: Monsoon activity is set to intensify in Jharkhand once again, with the Meteorological Department forecasting heavy rainfall across several districts over the next four days. A yellow alert has been issued for the Kolhan and Santhal regions from August 7 to 9. Districts likely to receive significant rainfall include East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharsawan, Godda, Sahibganj, Pakur, Dumka, Deoghar, Jamtara, Bokaro, and Dhanbad.
Rain Forecast for Ranchi
The weather department has also predicted rainfall in Ranchi. The city has already received 1010.5 mm of rain this season, which is 74% above normal. Across the state, the cumulative rainfall till August 5 stands at 810.1 mm—about 45% above the seasonal average. In the past 24 hours, Jamshedpur recorded 41.6 mm, Godda 37 mm, Dumka 25.2 mm, and Dhanbad 19.4 mm of rain.
Temperature Observations in the Last 24 Hours
Ranchi recorded a maximum temperature of 31.8°C, nearly 2.5 degrees above normal. The highest temperature in the state was observed in Seraikela at 37.4°C. The weather department has advised citizens to remain cautious due to the possibility of strong winds and lightning.
