Ranchi, Dec.25: The HEC workers are suspicious taking the intention of some of the union leaders creating fear among them to end their strike that entered 25th day today.

A worker, who does not want to be identified, shared the situation with Lagatar24.com saying it has come to their knowledge that a union has raised the demand of Rs one lakh from the management for their Delhi journey and paving the path to end the strike on the condition of payment of two-month salary at a time.

“The union wants to send its five-member delegation to talk with officials of the union heavy industry ministry and they are expected to become active from Monday,” the worker said adding that earlier a union leader attempted to terrify them saying that if the strike does not end immediately, the HEC will be closed.

“Workers want three-month salary at a time and remaining due in next three months with current wages while the company has just paid the wage of 15 days against due salary of seven months and some of the union leaders trying us to end our strike on payment of two-month salary at a time.

Another worker echoed the same saying the present strike is spontaneous and workers do not want unions to negotiate at the cost of their interest.

“It is a question of life and death for workers. It is good that union leaders have come for their help but the way they are behaving suggests that they are not seeing the interest of workers and sometimes talk the language of management. This time we workers are determined not to listen to even union leaders if they bring any proposal to end the strike without payment of less than three months,” the worker said.
