Hemant Soren govt to provide special books to students of class nine

Ranchi, March 30: The Jharkhand government has launched an ambitious education project to provide dictionaries, atlas, general knowledge books, and English grammar books to students of class nine of all government schools.

The decision will benefit 2,92,760 students of class nine and the government is set to take the proposal before the cabinet for allocation of funds etc. Among them, the number of boys is 1,33,982 and the rest 1,58,778 are girls. Girls outnumber boys in Jharkhand.

The government said that these special books are other than regular books of the curriculum that the government provides.

The government said that the decision was taken to bring overall development of students so that they academically compete with students of the private schools. It will prepare a plinth for students so that they prepare well for different competitive examinations.

Last year, the government approved a proposal to provide free textbooks to students of all categories studying in classes nine and ten in government schools.
