High-level committee fixes salary of para teachers in Jharkhand, final approval yet to be taken

Ranchi, Nov.8:  A high-level committee chaired by education minister Jagarnath Mahto today fixed the salary of para teachers.

 

Those qualified for the TET and proficiency test will have the same pay scale but their grade pay will be different.

 

Those who will qualify proficiency test will get a pay scale of Rs 5200 t0 20200 with a grade pay of Rs 2000. TET qualified will get a pay scale of 5200 to 20200 and they will get grade pay ranging between Rs 2400 to Rs 2800.

 

In this way TET qualified imparting education to the students of class six to eight will get approximately Rs 27000 per month, TET qualified imparting education to students of Class I to VI will get Rs 25500 and proficiency test qualified teachers imparting education to the students of class I to VIII will get Rs 23500 per month.

 

Apart from this, para teachers will be given all those facilities which their counterparts in Bihar get.

 

The facilities include retirement at the age of 60 years, salary according to pay scale for primary, middle and high school teachers and maternity leave to women besides others.

 

The decision was taken in a high-level committee chaired by education minister Jagarnath Mahto.

 

As many as 11,000 para teachers are TET qualified in the state while 50,000 are only trained. About 3000 para teachers are untrained.

 

The decision of the high power committee will be sent to the finance and law department for final approval after proper discussion with the development commissioner, finance department secretary and other senior officials.
