Washington, Dec 17: How I Met Your Father, sequel of the 2000s hit sitcom How I Met Your Mother, is all set to release in 2022. Hulu unveiled the first trailer of the upcoming new comedy show.
Hulu shared the trailer on Twitter and wrote, “We can’t wait for you to watch this story! Tweet to receive reminders from @HIMYFonHulu for the premiere of #HIMYF. The fun begins January 18, only on Hulu.”
The trailer was also shared on the official Instagram page of ‘How I Met Your Father’.

The series continues the story of how Sophie met her future children’s father. Narrating the story to her kids, Sophie starts from the year 2022 when she was navigating her life with a group of friends in New York City. The older version of Sophie is played by Kim Cattrall.
The new footage opens with Kim Cattrall, who is narrating as a future version of Sophie, telling her child- This is the story of how I met your father.
The fans of How I Met Your Mother, have had various reactions to the trailer. One of the fans wrote about the theme song, to not use any “chappy song” since How I Met Your Mother had a rather iconic song. The fans of the original series also called the trailer ‘cringey’ saying he cannot watch the “absurdly cringey” content for the second time. Fans also slammed the sequel saying that it was “insulting” to the original one.
Notably, ‘How I Met Your Father’ is a standalone sequel series to the hit sitcom How I Met Your Mother, which aired for 10 seasons between 2005 to 2014. ‘How I Met Your Father’ is slated to premiere on January 18 on Hulu.
