New Delhi, Dec 13: Smriti Mandhana, the India opener, has a career-high 741 points and is still ranked third among hitters in the most recent ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings, which were revealed on Tuesday.
The second T20I match between India and Australia ended in a draw before India won in the Super Over, and the Player of the Match earned 11 rating points to accomplish the milestone. Tahlia McGrath of Australia has moved up to the top spot in the rankings as a result of her outstanding performances in the first two games of the current series versus India, which is being played in Mumbai.
Since she passed Lanning on August 3 of this year, Mooney has held the top spot.
After only 16 games, McGrath is ranked first. The previous woman to do so was Stafanie Taylor of the West Indies in 2010 (15 matches), but in recent years, India’s Shafali Verma has been the fastest, rising to the top spot after only 18 matches.
Shafali and Jemimah Rodriques, two additional Indian batters, are included in the top-10 T20I batters list, with Shafali moving up one spot to rank sixth.
Indian spinners Deepti Sharma and Renuka Singh Thakur have maintained their third- and fourth-place positions in the T20I rankings, respectively, while England’s Sarah Glenn has moved up one spot to second place behind fellow countrywoman Sophie Ecclestone.
