ICC T20 WC: Namibia upset Sri Lanka with 55-run win in opening game

New Delhi. Oct 16: Namibia stunned Sri Lanka with a dramatic 55-run victory in the opening match of round 1 of the T20 World Cup on Sunday at Kardinia Park in Geelong, Australia.

Namibia dismissed Sri Lanka for 108 runs in 19 overs while defending 163 for 7. Ben Shikongo, Bernard Scholtz, Jan Frylinck, David Wiese, and each of them took two wickets, while JJ Smit took one wicket for Namibia.

Earlier, after being given the option to bat first, Namibia achieved a competitive total on the board with Frylinck’s 44 runs from 28 balls and Smit’s 31 points from 16 shots. Pramod Madushan took two wickets for Sri Lanka, however his economy rate was over nine.
