Dhanbad, April 5: Six years old IIT Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad has registered a new record in the placement of students in different national and multinational companies in 2021-22 academic sessions.
A senior official of IIT ISM Career Development Centre (campus placement department) said that so far, 997 students of the 2022 batch got jobs through the placement process. The official said that this figure of placement was recorded till April 1, 2022. The institution is likely to touch 1000 magic figures by the end of the session.
The Indian School of Mines (ISM) was set up in 1926. But in 2016 it was upgraded to IIT status.
According to an IIT ISM Career Development Centre ( Placement department) official, the institution had earlier recorded the highest job placement of 995 students in 2020 which was registered in the entire session that concluded in May. But this time, the campus job placement of students has reached 997 one month before the completion of the session.
So far, 260 national and multinational companies have visited the institution (IIT ISM) for the campus selection of students.
Altogether 137 students out of 997 have got a pre-placement offer (PPO). “In off-campus selection, a student of mathematics and computer engineering department got the highest package of Rs 1 crore while in the on-campus selection, a student got placement on a package of Rs 50 lakh.
While expressing his delight over the record placement of students, the IIT ISM official said that more than 128 students got a package of above Rs 30 lakh, 489 students received a package of above Rs 10 lakh to Rs 30 lakh,199 students have got a package of above Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.
Besides it, 380 students have got internship offers and 194 students have received job offers from startups.
