Jamshedpur, Dec 22: IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre issued a forecast of shallow fog in isolated pockets during the next 48 hours. The fog is expected to reduce surface visibility considerably.
A western disturbance was also existing in the mid and upper troposphere 5.8 Km above the mean sea level. Weathermen said the western disturbance would block the free flow of north-westerly wind and hence there is a possibility of a rise in minimum temperature.
Met statistics revealed that Ramgarh and several other places in central Jharkhand recorded minimum readings of around 8 degrees Celsius while Giridih and Bokaro recorded around 9 degrees Celsius.
Capital Ranchi and its adjoining areas recorded minimum readings between 9 and 10 degree Celsius while the steel city of Jamshedpur recorded around 11 degrees Celsius.
