Islamabad, April 3:  Imran Khan, Pakistan’s prime minister, is due to face a no-confidence vote in the National Assembly today, which might result in his dismissal.

When a coalition partner stated its seven MPs would vote with the opposition, the former international cricketer’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party effectively lost majority in the 342-member house last week.

Imran Khan, on the other hand, has stated that he will not retire and that he will “fight to the last ball.” He also urged his supporters to march to the streets to peacefully protest what he described as an international “plot” to depose him. Notably, no Pakistan Prime Minister has ever completed a full term.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Geo News reported that district administration imposed Section 144 and completely banned pillion riding in Islamabad as the National Assembly session will start.
