New Delhi, Dec 8: The third and final ODI between India and Bangladesh will not be played by the three Indian players, including Captain Rohit Sharma, because of injuries.

Injury problems persisted during India’s tour of Bangladesh. Rohit is one of the three players who will miss the final ODI against Bangladesh, according to head coach Rahul Dravid. Rohit will travel to Mumbai to consult with a specialist, according to Dravid.

The coach said that it was sad that they didn’t have access to the entire roster due to the injuries that plagued the team. After then, a decision on the Indian captain’s participation in the Test series would be made.

“Rohit will certainly miss the next game, fly back to Bombay, consult with an expert and see how it is and whether he can come back for the Test matches or not, I’m not sure. It’s too soon to say that,” Rahul Dravid said in a post-match press conference.

“Deepak Chahar, who only bowled three overs in the second ODI in Dhaka, was also ruled out of the final ODI as was Kuldeep Sen, who missed the match on Wednesday. All three of them won’t play the next game for sure,” Dravid said after the game.

In an attempt to make a catch while fielding during Bangladesh’s batting innings, the captain hurt his thumb. He was bleeding as he left after the ball hit his thumb. He praised Rohit Sharma’s performance, which despite suffering a serious injury, gave India a chance to win the game.

At the Shere Bangla National Stadium on Wednesday, Bangladesh held off a late blitz from an injured Rohit Sharma to win by just five runs and take a commanding 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series.

The brave half-century by the Indian captain, who was batting with his left thumb heavily bandaged, was unable to prevent India from losing a second straight ODI series in Bangladesh as Mustafizur Rahman successfully batted out 20 runs in the final over to secure a victory for his team.
