Johannesburg, Jan 3: Rain will be a stumbling block for India as they attempt to make history in Johannesburg. The first Test at Centurion was hampered by weather, but the Indian pace attack put on a clinical performance, and India triumphed by 113 runs.

Now, rain is expected to disrupt the play on Day 1 of the second test in Johannesburg, so the weather prognosis for the second encounter does not look great. According to weather report, thunderstorms are likely to develop on Monday afternoon with 50 percent chances of rain. The temperature will be between 14 and 26 degrees Celsius.

Furthermore, the weather forecast for Days 2 and 4 isn’t looking promising, with sporadic thunderstorms likely on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Indian team is in a good form with a brilliant ton by KL Rahul in the first innings and brilliant bowling by Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Siraj. The conditions are anticipated to remain the same in Johannesburg, and the team is hoping for a similar performance from the trio.

South Africa, on the other hand, has a difficult road ahead of them in regaining parity with Virat Kohli’s India. Quinton de Kock, one of the hosts’ most experienced contenders, will be unavailable for the hosts, who are currently down 1-0 in the three-match series.

India Playing XI:  KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli(c), Ajinka Rahane, Rishabh Pant(w), Ravichandran Ashwin, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj.

South Africa Playing XI: Dean Elgar (c), Aiden Markram, Keegan Petersen, Rassie van der Dussen, Temba Bavuma, Quinton de Kock(w), Wiaan Mulder, Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi
