Ahmedabad, Feb 6: Yuzvendra Chahal, India’s fastest spinner, achieved an astonishing accomplishment during the first ODI match of the three-match series against the West Indies at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

Chahal reached 100 wickets in ODI cricket when he dismissed Nicholas Pooran in the 20th over of the contest.

Yuzvendra Chahal became the 2nd fastest Indian spinner after his spin partner Kuldeep Yadav to pick up 100 wickets in ODI cricket. With this, Chahal became the 2nd fastest Indian spinner after his spin partner Kuldeep Yadav to pick up 100 wickets in ODI cricket. Pooran missed the sweep as the ball turned in and smacked the front pad in line with the stumps on a flung up delivery around off. After the on-field umpire denied a wicket, ball-tracking revealed that the delivery would have smashed into the stumps, India requested a review.

Chahal became the 23rd Indian bowler to achieve the century mark with the dismissal, the sixth fastest overall and second fastest among spinners. With 56 ODI wickets, Mohammed Shami remains India’s fastest to 100 wickets, followed by Jasprit Bumrah (57), Kuldeep Yadav (58), Irfan Pathan (59), and lastly Chahal (60).
