New Delhi, Feb 15: India’s Covid chart showed improvement today with 27,409 instances recorded, down 19.6% from yesterday. According to the Health Ministry, 347 deaths occurred during this time period.
Covid cases, lead by the highly contagious Omicron form, have been progressively falling in most Indian states after a month-long spike.
The number of active cases in the country is presently 4,23,127. In India, active cases now account for 0.99 percent of all infections.
The daily positivity rate in India has declined from 3.19 percent to 2.23 percent. The positivity rate for the week is 3.63 percent.
In the previous 24 hours, 12,29,536 Covid tests were performed.
Since the beginning of the national vaccination campaign in January 2021, India has administered 173.42 crore vaccine doses.
As the highly contagious Omicron type dominates the outbreak, global Covid-19 infections have topped 400 million, straining health services in numerous nations.
According to the news agency AFP, the coronavirus has killed at least 5,816,122 individuals since the outbreak began in China in December 2019. With 919,845, the United States has the most Covid deaths, followed by Brazil (638,362) and India (509,358).
