New Delhi, Dec.22:, India has registered 6,317 new cases of the novel coronavirus, as well as 318 deaths from the infection in the last 24 hours. According to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Wednesday, the country experienced 6,906 discharges in the last 24 hours, bringing the total recovery rate to roughly 98.40 percent, the highest since March 2020, and total recoveries to 3,42,01,966.
Covid-19 active cases in India have decreased to 78,190 (lowest in 575 days), according to government data released today.
So now, the nationwide vaccination drive has administered about 138.95 crore vaccine doses.
The country’s total death toll today stands at 4,78,325. The first death from the Covid epidemic was recorded in India in March 2020.
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) reports that 66,73,56,171 samples have been tested for COVID-19 as of December 21. On Tuesday, 12,29,512 of these samples were examined.
Meanwhile, Kerala continues to report fewer than 3,000 new COVID-19 cases every day, with 2,748 new infections reported on Tuesday, bringing the total number of cases to 52,10,738. According to a state official release, 233 people died in the state, bringing the total death toll to 45,155.
After hearing appeals based on the new instructions of the Centre and the directions of the Supreme Court, 33 of the 233 deaths were recorded in the previous few days, and 200 were designated as COVID-19 deaths. Since Monday, 3,202 more persons have recovered from the virus, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 51,48,703 and the number of ongoing cases to 28,035.
