New Delhi, Oct.4: India’s daily Covid chart showed an improvement today, with the country reporting 20,799 new Covid cases, down from 22,842 cases the day before. According to the Health Ministry, around 180 deaths occurred during this time period.
Kerala has added 12,297 new Covid cases and 74 deaths, bringing the overall number of cases to 47,20,233 and the total number of deaths to 25,377. According to an official press statement, 16,333 persons have recovered from the virus since Saturday, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 45,57,199 and the number of active cases to 1,37,043.
According to the health department of Maharashtra, the state recorded 2,692 new positive cases, 41 fatalities, and 2,716 patients discharged. The new infections brought the total number of COVID-19 illnesses in the state to 65,59,349. According to the report, at least 1,39,207 persons have died as a result of the virus, with 35,888 cases still active in the state.
Mizoram, in the northeast, has seen an increase in COVID-19 cases. According to the state health department, at least 21,074 cases were detected in August, with 34,263 additional infections confirmed in September. According to the state, 1,655 cases were reported in April, 6,268 in May, 8,093 in June, and 18,433 in July.
Active cases in India make up less than 0.78 percent of overall infections, the lowest level since March 2020. The number of active cases has dropped to 2,64,458, the lowest level in 200 days.
The national Covid recovery rate was 97.89 percent, the highest level since March 2020. In the last 24 hours, there have been at least 26,718 recoveries, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 3,31,21,247.
The daily positivity rate, or the number of positive cases discovered per 100, is 2.10 percent, down from 3% in the previous 35 days. The positivity rate for the week is 1.63 percent.
Since the outbreak in China in December 2019, the coronavirus has killed at least 4,793,613 people. The United States has been hit the worst, with 700,935 deaths from 43,658,032 cases, followed by Brazil (597,723 deaths from 21,459,117 cases), India (4,48,997 deaths from 3,38,34,702 cases), Mexico (278,592 deaths from 3,678,980 cases), and Russia (209,918 deaths from 209,918 cases) (7,586,536 cases).
