New Delhi, Nov.24: India has documented 9,283 new instances of the novel coronavirus, as well as 437 deaths from the infection in the last 24 hours,. According to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Wednesday, the country had a total of 10,949 discharges in the last 24 hours, bringing the total recovery rate to roughly 98.33%, the highest since March 2020, and total recoveries to 3, 39, 57, 698.
The number of active COVID-19 cases in India has dropped to 1,11,481 (the lowest in 537 days), according to government data released today.
Till date, the Nationwide Vaccination Drive has administered more than 118.44 crore vaccine doses.
The country’s total death toll today stands at 4,66,584. The first death from the COVID pandemic was recorded in India in March 2020.
Meanwhile, Kerala reported an increase in COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, with 4,972 infections and 370 deaths, bringing the total number of cases to 50,97,845 and the death toll to 38,045. After constantly maintaining a high number of infections over the past three months, the state saw a drop in cases on Monday, with 3,698 cases reported.
With 5,978 more people recovering from the virus since Monday, the total recoveries reached 50,18,279 and the active cases dropped to 52,710, an official press release said. Among the 14 districts, Thiruvananthapuram recorded the highest with 917 cases, followed by Thirssur (619) and Kozhikode (527).
According to the announcement, 57 deaths were recorded in the last few days, and 313 were designated as COVID-19 deaths after accepting appeals based on the Centre’s new rules and the Supreme Court’s directives. It claimed that 60,265 samples had been analysed in the previous 24 hours.
