New Delhi, Dec 30: India has reported 13,154 new Covid-19 cases and 268 deaths in the last 24 hours, informed the Union Health Ministry on Thursday.
India’s Omicron cases has risen to 961with maximum cases from Delhi (263) and Maharashtra (252), according to the Union ministry of health and family welfare.
Among other states, Rajasthan reported 69 Omicron cases and Kerala have 65 cases. In Telangana, 62 people have so far tested positive for the Omicron while in Tamil Nadu the tally stood at 45. Karnataka has logged 34 Omicron cases.
With this, the country’s COVID-19 tally has risen to 34,822,040. Also, 268 people succumbed to the coronavirus disease in the same period and the country’s death toll climbed to 480,860.

The active caseload in the country stands at 82,402 constituting 0.24% of the total cases. As many as, 7,486 patients recovered in the last 24 hours taking the total number of recoveries to 3,42,58,778. The recovery rate in the country stands at 98.38%, according to the ministry.
Meanwhile, more than 67.64 crore samples have so far been tested for the disease, the health ministry said. Also with the administration of 63,91,282 COVID-19 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 143.83 Cr (1,43,83,22,742) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.
