New Delhi, Aug 14: India added 14,092 new coronavirus infections, bringing the virus total to 4,42,53,464, while active cases fell to 1,16,861, according to Union Health Ministry data updated on Sunday.
The death toll has risen to 5,27,037, with 41 fatalities, including 12 deaths reconciled by Kerala, according to data updated at 8 a.m.
According to the ministry, active cases account for 0.26 percent of total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate is 98.54 percent.

In the last 24 hours, the active COVID-19 caseload has decreased by 2,403 cases.
On August 7, 2020, India’s COVID-19 tally surpassed the 20-lakh mark, and on December 19, that year, it surpassed the one-crore mark. It passed the two crore mark on May 4, 2021, and the three crore mark on June 23, 2021. On January 25, this year, it surpassed the four-billion-dollar mark.
