India reports 19,968 new Covid-19 cases, 673 deaths in last 24 hours

New Delhi, Feb 20: India reported 19,968 new Covid-19 cases and 673 related deaths in the last 24 hours, informed the Health Ministry on Sunday.

According to data published by the Union Ministry of Health, daily instances are down from Saturday’s 22,270.

On Sunday, the country’s daily positivity rate fell from 2.07% to 1.687%. The weekly positivity rate also dropped somewhat, from 2.76 percent to 2.27 percent.

With 48,847 patients recovering from the condition, there were 29,552 active cases, bringing the total active caseload to 2,24,187, or 0.52 percent of all cases. The recovery rate in India is currently at 98.28%.

So far, 75.93 crore tests have been administered, with 11,87,766 tests administered in the last 24 hours.

On Saturday, 635 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in Delhi, with two deaths, and the positive rate fell to 1.13 percent. On the other hand, Mumbai saw one death due to Covid-19 for the second day in a row on Saturday, with 201 new cases registered. On Saturday, Chennai saw a slight decrease, with 238 new Covid-19 cases.

According to data from the health ministry, a total of 175.37 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses have been provided so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive.
