New Delhi, June 15: India has recorded 8,822 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, up 33.8 percent from yesterday. The overall number of cases now stands at 4,32,45,517. The number of active Covid-19 cases in India has risen from 50,548 to 53,637, according to the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry.
Throughout the same time period, 15 deaths were reported in the country, bringing the total number of deaths to 5,24,792.
Maharashtra has the most cases (2,956), followed by Kerala (1,989 cases), Delhi (1,118 cases), Karnataka (594 cases), and Haryana (430 cases).
These five states account for at least 80.33 percent of new cases, with Maharashtra alone accounting for 33.51 percent of new cases.
In the previous 24 hours, 5,718 patients have recovered, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 4,26,67,088 across the country. The recovery rate in India is now at 98.66 percent.
The number of active cases in India was 53,637. Active cases have climbed by 3,089% in the previous 24 hours. In the last 24 hours, India administered a total of 13,58,607 doses, bringing the total number of doses administered to 1,95,50,87,271. In the previous 24 hours, a total of 3,21,873 samples were tested.
