New Delhi, June 22: India reported at least 12,249 additional COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, bringing the total to 4,33,31,645. Data from the Union Health Ministry show that there are now 81,687 active cases in the nation.
A total of 5,24,903 people have died worldwide as a result of Covid, according to reports from India.
Maharashtra leads the top five states with the most instances reported, with 3,659, followed by Kerala with 2,609, Delhi with 1,383, Karnataka with 738, and Tamil Nadu with 737.
These five states accounted for 74.5 percent of the new cases, with Maharashtra alone accounting for 29.87 percent of the cases.
India’s recovery rate is currently 98.6%. In the past 24 hours, 9,862 patients have made recoveries, bringing the national total to 4,27,25,055. There are now 81,687 cases pending in India. Active cases have increased by 2,374 over the past day.
Of all infections, the active cases make up 0.19 percent. The health ministry reported that the nationwide COVID-19 recovery rate was 98.60%. According to the ministry, the weekly positivity rate was 2.90 percent and the daily positivity rate was 3.94 percent.
Meanwhile, in the past 24 hours, India administered a total of 12,28,291 doses, increasing the overall number of doses administered to 1,96,45,99,906.
