New Delhi: In response to the infiltration of highly trained Pakistani terrorists in the Jammu region, the Indian Army is realigning its deployments based on intelligence inputs and security needs. Approximately 500 Para Special Forces commandos have been deployed to hunt down the 50-55 terrorists from Pakistan who have entered the region to revive terrorism, according to defence sources from news agency ANI.
Intelligence agencies have intensified their efforts in the area, aiming to dismantle the terrorist support infrastructure, including overground workers who assist terrorists.
The Indian Army has also increased its presence in the region, bringing in additional troops, including a brigade of approximately 3,500-4,000 personnel, to counter Pakistan’s proxy aggression.
Army leadership on the ground is focused on strategies to locate and eliminate the terrorists, who are equipped with the latest weaponry and communication devices. The existing counter-terrorist infrastructure in the area includes two Rashtriya Rifles forces, the Romeo and Delta forces, alongside other regular infantry divisions.
