Ahmedabad: An IndiGo flight traveling from Kuwait to Delhi was forced to make an emergency landing in Ahmedabad after receiving a hijack and bomb threat, triggering immediate security protocols and passenger evacuation.

Threat Note Found Mid-Air

According to officials, the IndiGo aircraft was carrying around 180 passengers when a threatening note was discovered written on a tissue paper. The note warned of a possible hijacking and bomb attack on the flight, prompting the pilot to alert Air Traffic Control and divert the aircraft to Ahmedabad as a precautionary measure.

Emergency Landing and Security Checks

After the emergency landing at Ahmedabad airport, all passengers were safely evacuated. The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) and other security agencies rushed to the spot and conducted thorough checks of passengers and their luggage. No suspicious objects have been found so far, and the situation remains under control.

Flight to Resume After Clearance

Authorities said the aircraft will be allowed to resume its journey to Delhi after clearance from the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and completion of mandatory security checks.

Rising Incidents of Hoax Threats

Officials noted that such bomb threats against flights have become increasingly frequent in recent times. Similar threats were reported earlier on IndiGo flights, including an incident that led to an emergency landing in Lucknow, though most cases later turned out to be hoaxes.
