New Delhi, July 17: After the captain reported a ‘technical issue’ in the aircraft, an IndiGo flight on Sunday from Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates to Hyderabad was diverted to Karachi in Pakistan. According to reports, the airline would dispatch a different plane to Karachi to pick up the passengers and bring them home.
“After the pilot of the Sharjah-Hyderabad flight observed a technical defect in the aircraft, as a precaution, the aircraft was diverted to Karachi, Pakistan. An additional flight is being sent to Karachi to fly the passengers to Hyderabad,” IndiGo said in a statement.
In the past two weeks, Karachi has seen the landing of two Indian airlines.
Earlier last month, a SpiceJet plane carrying about 150 people touched down in Karachi after taking off from Delhi and travelling to Dubai. The safety of every passenger was reported. However, the incident caught the DGCA’s (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) notice, and it launched an investigation.
