Mumbai, April 25: KL Rahul, the captain of the Lucknow Super Giants, has been fined Rs 24 lakhs for keeping the slow-over pace in the IPL 2022 match against Mumbai Indians on Sunday at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Along with Rahul, the rest of the playing eleven have been fined either INR 6 lakhs or 25% of their match money, whichever is lesser.

In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, Rahul scored his second century of the season to lead Lucknow Super Giants to a 36-run victory on Sunday, extending the Mumbai Indians’ losing record to eight games.

Lucknow scored 168/6 in 20 overs, with Rahul’s 103 not out, before restricting Mumbai to 132/8. With 10 points, Lucknow is tied with Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals, and Royal Challengers Bangalore for second place in the league, two points behind Gujarat. Mumbai have lost their first eight games, the greatest losing streak in IPL history.
