Mumbai, March 30: Kane Williamson, the captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad, has been fined Rs 12 lakh for his team’s poor over-rate during their 61-run loss to Rajasthan Royals in an Indian Premier League match here.

In a one-sided game played at the MCA stadium on Tuesday, the Sunrisers were defeated by Rajasthan Royals by 61 runs.

“The Sunrisers Hyderabad have been penalised after they maintained a slow over-rate during their IPL 2022 encounter against Rajasthan Royals on March 29 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune,” the IPL said in a statement.

“As it was the team’s first offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over rate offences, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Kane Williamson was fined Rs 12 lakhs,” the statement added.

Earlier, Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma was fined Rs 12 lakh for his team’s slow over-rate in an IPL match against Delhi Capitals in Mumbai.
