Mumbai: The Indian stock market surged on Tuesday following reports of a ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel, bringing much-needed relief to global investors. Both Sensex and Nifty opened in the green, with bullish sentiment dominating early trade.
Sensex Surges Nearly 900 Points
The BSE Sensex opened with a significant gain of 895.28 points, reaching 82,792.07, while the NSE Nifty climbed 264 points to open at 25,235.90. The Bank Nifty too registered a robust rise of 635.15 points, touching 56,694.50 in early trade.
Broad-Based Rally Across Sectors
Out of the 30 stocks listed on the Sensex, 28 were trading in the green, while only two stocks slipped into negative territory. Adani Ports led the gainers’ pack with a rise of 3.90%, reflecting renewed investor confidence amid easing geopolitical tensions.
