ISRO invites youth interested in space science to explore platform

Ranchi, Jan 20: India’s space agency, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has created a platform for youth interested in space science named Antriksh Jigyasa. Here, youth will be able to understand the depth of space through the subjects of science, technology, technology and mathematics.

For this, the candidate has to register on the official website of Antriksh Jigyasa at https://www.jigyasa.iirs.gov.in. Many courses related to space have been launched on this platform, through which youth will be able to explore space virtually. Here’s a list of the available courses.

SkyPicks

It is a creative platform for kids, which gives them an opportunity to show their creativity and imagination related to astronomy, astrophysics and space. Young learners can share their creative photography, sketches, drawings and videos on Skypicks. The creative material shared by the students is evaluated by ISRO from time to time and the best presentations are also rewarded.

Shiksha Gagan

It is an active learning virtual platform that offers self-paced online courses to learners about space science, technology and its applications. Youth can access e-learning content and study material by registering and logging into ISRO e-Class Learning Management System. Learners participating in the platform have to follow the guidelines set for each course. Online activities have to participate and an assessment has to be done to get the course completion certificate. This course is available as Massive Open Online Course (MOOC). The registration of the candidates who login in for the course is valid for 3 months.

Space Varta

Space Varta is a programme run through the voices of ISRO scientists. Under this programme, scientists share scientific concepts related to specific areas of space science, technology, applications, principles, difficulties encountered during a space mission and experiences related to implementing the system. Live sessions of the programme are also made available on social media platforms so that more and more learners can become a part of this programme. Registered learners participating in the programme can post questions and receive answers from experts during the course. The next programme on Space Varta will be presented on February 11, 2023, from 4 to 5 pm. The topic of this programme will be ‘The Journey of a Satellite in Space Weather’.

Space Innovation and Spark

Space Innovation and Spark programmes are also available on the Antriksh Jigyasa platform. In Space Innovation, students can present their ideas, models, software, technology, problem-solving ideas, research results and other creative things. ISRO will evaluate their creativity from time to time. And Spark is ISRO’s first 3D virtual space park. The park includes a museum, theatre, life-size rocket garden, lakeside cafe, observatory and children’s playground.

Space Quiz

This is an online quiz programme. This programme is announced by ISRO from time to time, in which students have to participate in an online quiz and get passing scores. The students participating in this quiz programme are given certificates from ISRO.
