Sriharikota, July 30: Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has set another record in space today after the successful launch of Chandrayaan-3. PSLV-C56 was successfully launched from Sriharikota at 6.30 am. Through this, ISRO has sent seven satellites of Singapore into space. PSLV is 44.4 meters tall and this is its 58th flight. Also, it has flown for the 17th time with core alone configuration. The PSLV-C56 mission is the second major mission by the Indian space agency in two weeks.
ISRO Chief S Somnath has congratulated ISRO for the successful launch. He said that PSLV-C56 carrying seven satellites including primary satellite DS-SAR and six co-passenger satellites was successfully placed in the correct orbit.
The seven satellites that have been sent into space through PSLV-C56 include DS-SAR, VELOX-AM 23, 3U Nanosatellite, ORB-12 Strider, ARCAD (Atmospheric Coupling and Dynamics Explorer), Galasia-2 and experimental satellite Scoob- 2. Singapore’s Earth Observation Satellite (DS-SAR) and six other satellites will be put into orbit.
DS-SAR is the main satellite in this launching of PSLV-C56 which has been sent by Singapore’s DSTA & ST Engineering i.e Singapore’s Defense Science and Technology Agency. As soon as this satellite is installed in the orbit and it starts working properly, it will be easy to take satellite pictures. The Government of Singapore will be helped in making maps.
