Ranchi, May 9: The Jharkhand Academic Council has extended the date for submission of forms for the Chief Minister’s Medha Scholarship Examination.
Students can now submit the form till May 21. Candidates may also ask the DEO to verify their forms till May 28. Notably, the final date for submission of the form was earlier April 30.
Along with this, the earlier set requirement of marks of class VII has also been abolished for the session for appearing in the examination. This also presents an opportunity for Class VII pass students who can freely appear in the examination that is to be held by JAC.
Notably, around 5,000 students are to be selected for scholarships. Every year a scholarship worth Rs 12 thousand will be given to the selected student from class 9th to 12th. The dates for the examination and downloading admit cards will be announced by JAC later.
Meanwhile, JAC has also postponed the Model School Enrollment Entrance Examination and the entrance exams for schools operated on the lines of Netarhat Residential School along with Indira Gandhi Girls Residential School. The exam was earlier proposed to be held on May 14, however, will now be conducted in June.
Along with this, the date for submission of forms for enrollment in the schools has also been extended, however, neither the new last date for form submission nor the exam date has yet been announced.
As per sources, JAC has finished preparations for the exam. The examination will be conducted at 1256 centres in the state. Around 4.50 lakh candidates are set to appear in the exam. The first stage examination will be conducted on an OMR sheet.
The candidates must pass four out of the five subjects. They will be given an additional 15 minutes to read the question paper. The internal assessment will take place at the school level. However, the date of uploading the marks of the internal assessment has not been announced yet.
Along with this, as per JAC officials, the enrollment in 125 newly upgraded plus two schools in the state will start this year. These schools have been upgraded from high school to plus two. All faculties including science, commerce and arts will be taught in all the intermediate level schools.
With the start of enrollment in these schools, the number of plus two schools in the state will increase to 535. Till now, 510 schools had intermediate education previously.
