Jamshedpur, March 25: A 42-year-old man who is an employee of RSB Company was critically injured on being hit by a speeding truck near Becco turning on the four-lane under Adityapur thana area on Saturday morning. The victim identified as Navin Kumar was riding through the four-lane to his factory in the industrial area when the truck hit his two-wheeler from behind.

As a result of the mishap, the biker got trapped in the truck’s bonnet and was dragged for a considerable distance causing him to sustain a grievous head injury. The passersby had subsequently rescued the bike rider and rushed him to Tata Main Hospital.

Before hitting the bike, the truck bearing registration No JH05D-9269 had hit a car from behind near the same spot, causing the car to get severely damaged. Fortunately, the car driver and a lady seated in the vehicle escaped unhurt.

Adityapur-Kandra four-lane linking Seraikela to the steel city is getting increasingly dangerous as road mishaps due to unruly heavy vehicles have become a regular affair there.

Earlier on Friday, a pedestrian was severely injured as a dumper hit him on the four-lane near RIT Mode. The dumper driver managed to escape having parked the vehicle at a little distance away.

As a police party was around, the victim who is a 25-year-old youth was rescued and rushed to MGM medical college hospital.

OC, Adityapur thana, Rajan Kumar confirmed the two mishaps took place back to back on the Adityapur-Kandra road in Adityapur.

“We are contemplating to take some measures to be implemented on the Adityapur-Kandra four-lane so such mishaps can be curbed,” said Kumar while talking to lagatar24.com.
