Jamshedpur, Jan 13: A joint team of Income Tax officials from Ranchi and Jamshedpur continued its raid at the Adityapur industrial area-based company Dorabjee Auto Plant’s factory in Adityapur and its office in Parsudih localities on Friday.
The raid extended to another day as the IT sleuths stumbled upon about Rs 1.25 crores in cash, an unspecified amount of jewellery and papers related to huge tax evasion during raids started at as many as six places in and around the city on Thursday.
The raids which were carried out on Thursday include the factory of Dorabjee Auto Plant located in Phase-B in the Adityapur industrial area, on the premises of Pahadi Engineering Company at Sundernagar, office of the companies located at Munshi Mohalla in Parsudih and the companies’ owner Mohammed Javed’s residence at Aashiyana.
According to sources, the raids that had started at 9.00 am on Thursday continued till late in the night. On Friday, the raids resumed in the morning after which the IT sleuths scrutinised the papers through which the factories management had allegedly tried to evade the Income Tax.
The sources said the IT officials had initially faced difficulties in conducting the raid at the offices of the two companies, but eventually, they succeeded to go ahead with it.
