What was significant is that the police solved the case within 24 hours of being registered.  The police not only did recover the looted mobile phones while arresting the miscreants, they also seized a two-wheeler used in committing the crime.

Those arrested were identified as Bhola Mahato (24), a resident of Ulidih, Sandeep Kumar Singh (23) and Harsh Kumar (22), both residents of Gadurbasa in Mango.

According to police, Rakesh Kisku and Ram Bahadur Sharma, both residents of Repeat Colony and Ulidih respectively were busy on a morning walk in the vicinity of picturesque Dimna Lake on Friday when three Scooty-borne youths intercepted them and looted their mobile phones after assaulting them.

The hapless morning walkers had subsequently gone over to the Bodam thana under whose jurisdiction the crime took place and lodged separate FIRs against the unidentified miscreants.

The Bodam thana OC, Dhananjay Baitha had swung into action and detected the case by Saturday morning.

The three arrested youths were sent to Ghaghidih Central Jail after their production before a judicial magistrate in the afternoon.
