Jamshedpur, Oct 11: Residents in steel city will soon get Vedic period treatment facility by the state Ayush department for the well-being of their health.

Known as the Panchakarma therapy centre, the facility will provide visitors with an opportunity to get their bodies completely detoxicated and full of vigour.

The Ayush department which functions under the department of Jharkhand Health and Family Welfare has been provided 25 decimal of land in the Baradwari area of the city and Rs 59 lakhs for setting up the facility there.

Revealing the proposed facility, director, Ayush, Dr Fazlus Sami said that the Panchakarma Therapy centre at Jamshedpur will be one of the five centres to be set up across the state, four other centres being at Ranchi, Dhanbad, Hazaribagh and Giridih.

“We have received Rs 59 lakhs for each of the five centres and the details project report (DPR) for all of them is in progress,” said Sami while talking to lagatar24.com.

Speaking about the Jamshedpur centre, the Ayush director said that they had initially planned to set up it at the Circuit House area in Bistupur, but as there was not adequate vacant land available there, the district administration identified an alternative site in the Baradwari locality.

According to the Ayush director, under the Panchakarma therapy, a person has to undergo emesis (Vamana), purgation (Virechana), medicated enemas (Basti), medicated nasal oiling (Nasya) and toxic-bloodletting (Raktamokshan).

“A man or woman will have to stay at the therapy centre for a period starting from 15 days to one month during which he or she has to go through all these five acts under the supervision of expert Ayurvedic doctors. Once the person gets through the Panchakarma, his or her body will not only be completely detoxicated, but it will glow like a newborn baby, ” Dr Sami explained.

The Ayush director stated that the health department is also taking the initiative to appoint an adequate number of qualified Ayurvedic doctors for making the Panchakarma therapy facility a great success in the state.
