Jamshedpur, Oct 1: The Tata Steel Zoological Park ( TSZP ) in steel city was reopened last evening bringing smiles to the faces of visitors especially children.

The zoo, one of the biggest in the state was closed in March last year due to the Covid-19 induced pandemic.

Zoo authorities said the zoo was opened for a short period last evening. But, from today it will function as usual.

” We are happy to reopen the zoo as the Covid situation has improved. We look forward to a good footfall of visitors, ” said a zoo official adding that soon they would be adding more animals.

Tata Steel Zoological Park is situated at one corner of the picturesque Jubilee Park.

The zoo is known for its Safari Park, which enables tourists to drive through the wooded area, where animals roam freely.

Tourists and visitors can also get to see the Nature Education Centre, which gives information about the zoo animals.

A rough estimate suggests that the zoo used to witness a daily footfall of over 1,200 visitors during normal time.
