Jharkhand ADG holds meet for peaceful Ramnavami in Hazaribag

Hazaribag, March 29: A high-level meeting was held on Wednesday at the Collectorate Auditorium to ensure Ramamnavami in a peaceful and harmonious environment. An in-depth review of the preparations for Hazaribagh Ram Navami was done by Sanjay Latkar, ADG, Police Headquarters. He directed the administrative and police officers to be extra vigilant in view of the festival. At the same time, in addition to the prescribed plan, it was advised to work on an alternative plan as well.

In the context of the work being done to conduct the festival in a peaceful and safe, harmonious environment, it was said to keep a special vigil on the identified areas through drones. He also directed them to remove the tyres kept outside the roadside tyre tube shops. Along with this, during the procession, the deputed magistrates, and the police officers were directed to keep head phone apart from the wireless set.

They were also asked to keep the police force equipped with torch, whistle, shoulder mike, body protector, helmet and other necessary items. He asked the deputed magistrates and police officers to control the situation immediately by taking quick and judicious decisions based on the current situation at the deputation site. Even they were asked to inform the control room as well.

Along with this, on the basis of special branch and other sources of intelligence, it was said to take further action seriously and to inform the senior officers about every minor incident. On the spot, the fire brigade was instructed to keep the water refilling center and route free of obstruction by marking the water refilling center and route for emergency control.

In the meeting, DIG Narendra Kumar asked to arrange for cranes and mechanics to remove the breakdown vehicles of the procession from the road immediately.

Superintendent of police, Manoj Ratan Chauthe said, action has been taken against 2200 people under section 107 and bond-down against about 5000 people under prohibitory action. On the other hand, the station in-charge will code all the processions from his area and walk along with the procession and control those who play objectionable songs and against communal harmony. He said that the students living in lodges and hostels who have come from outside districts have been verified. Apart from this, the police will keep a close watch on every visitor coming from outside and staying in the hotel.

On the spot, deputy commissioner Nancy Sahay said DJs have been completely banned, as well as ID cards and jerseys have been distributed to identify volunteers of the akhadas and associates of the administration.
