Ranchi: Jharkhand Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari has said that under the visionary leadership and commitment of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the state is progressing into a new era of healthcare transformation. “My sole aim is to make Jharkhand’s healthcare system robust and technologically empowered. Being a doctor myself, I understand the ground-level requirements and am actively working to address them. Visible changes are now taking place,” Dr. Ansari stated.
CM Digital Health Scheme Gets Green Signal
The state government has approved the Mukhyamantri Digital Health Yojana, with a budget of Rs 300 crore, aiming to digitize all government health institutions in a phased manner. Under this scheme, managed Wi-Fi, CCTV-equipped Command and Control Centers, and Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) will be implemented by C-DAC. It will also integrate all components of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). In addition, 103 new posts have been created for establishing a Regional Eye Institute at RIMS Ranchi, which will enhance ophthalmic services and rehabilitation for the visually impaired.
Super Speciality Posts Sanctioned in 5 Medical Colleges
The government has also approved 168 new posts for super speciality departments in five state-run medical colleges—Dhanbad, Jamshedpur, Hazaribagh, Dumka, and Palamu—to increase the availability of specialist doctors.
Toward Transparent and Citizen-Centric Healthcare
These steps mark a major initiative to make the state’s healthcare system more technologically sound, transparent, and citizen-centric. Dr. Ansari added that while systemic reforms take time, the government’s intent is clear: “Healthy Jharkhand, Empowered Jharkhand.”
