Dumka, Nov 2: A day after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) summoned Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren in connection with the ongoing investigation into the money laundering cases revolving around the illegal mining scam, he came down heavily on BJP and said they have been ‘hatching a conspiracy to topple his government which is being run by tribals and other deprived sections.
Soren was addressing a public meeting at police line ground in Sahebganj headquarters on Wednesday while participating in the much-hyped ‘Aapki Yojna Aapki Sarkar Aapke Dwar’ program which marked his maiden public appearance after the move of the central watchdog agency against him.
While accusing the previous twenty years of governance of failing to fulfil the aspirations of the common people of the state, CM said without naming the BJP that those earlier being in the dispensation could not digest a tribal being at the helm of affairs hence misusing the government agencies to terrorise them.
“However there is no need to panic. So far we have been blessed by the support of the people of the state,” Soren said adding that the rival party at the centre was targetting his government for being run by him and his cabinet colleagues belonging to tribal, Dalit and minority communities.
Soren said that it was unusual to witness the shift of ED investigation from the MNREGA scam of Khunti district to the illegal mining activities taking place far in Sahebganj which comprises his home constituency.
“They (BJP) will be given befitting reply by none other than whosoever are being benefitted by the various schemes of my government including old aged persons, widows, physically challenged and others who were made to run from pillar to post during the previous twenty years of the misgovernance,” the CM remarked.
While concluding his speech, CM also grilled Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais for being involved in the conspiracy against his government.
“For nearly the last three months, the governor remains indifferent towards the envelope ‘bomb’ by not disclosing the contents but he was exploding verbal bombs,” CM said in a sarcastic note while hinting towards the election commission’s letter to the governor in connection with the office of profit case against him.
He further alleged that after failing to defeat him politically, the rival party was misusing the constitutional institutions to terrorise him and tarnish his image which wouldn’t work.
Earlier, Soren boasted about the governance of the current dispensation led by him referring to the works undertaken during and post-pandemic period claiming those to be exceptional ones elsewhere in the country.
“The malgovernance during the twenty years of the previous governance is evident from the fact that nearly thirty-five lakh applications seeking various government benefits were received during the first phase of the Sarkar Aapke Dwar program last year most of which were settled,” CM said.
He asked what they did during two decades of governance that as many people were turning up to the camps being organised by his government at their doorsteps.
Notably. Chief minister, who was accompanied by his cabinet colleagues Alamgir Alam and Satyanand Bhokta, Rajmahal JMM MP Vijay Hasda, Borio MLA Lobin Hembrom and his Rajmahal counterpart of the BJP Anant Ojha, inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of different schemes worth Rs 104 Crore.
