Ranchi, Aug.23: BJP state president and former chief minister Babulal Marandi has asked people to protect their vacant land from Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren saying that the latter pays talks of freeing the poor and tribals from the ‘Mahajani’ system, but has turned a ‘Mahajan’.
Marandi said this while starting the second phase of his Sankalp Yatra today. He addressed the public meeting at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Maidan in Madhupur.
He said that incidents of murder, loot and rape are taking place in the state. “If the police arrest and file cases, it does not file cases against the criminals, but against those who speak against the state government and those who agitate against the government,” he said.
Marandi said: “There is loot of mines, minerals and sandstone in the state and the robbers have the protection of the government as people sitting in power are involved in the loot.”
“Chief Minister, who talked about freeing the poor and tribals from the Mahajani system, today became the biggest moneylender by looting the state’s mines, minerals, stones and land of the poor,” he added.
Marandi said that the Hemant government pushed the state into the pit of corruption. “There is corruption everywhere in the block, police station and secretariat. No certificate is made without money. Plans are not approved. Ministers of the state are now busy in managing the tenders leaving the work of the public. There is no transfer posting without offering,” he said.
