Ranchi, Dec.6:  It remained a historic day for Jharkhand where chief minister Hemant Soren, apart from laying the foundation stone for a unit of cement factory, also opened four units of textiles paving the paths of thousands of employment for the youths of the state as promised during the election.

Foundation for the Dalmia Bharat Cement plant was laid at Balidih in Bokaro. Four textile units were built at Kulhi (Ormanjhi) in Ranchi.

The new cement unit will bring an investment of Rs 567 crore. The state government has provided 12 acres of land for the same. An additional unit will take the production of Dalmia Bharat Cement to 6.2MT per annum to 3.7MT. The foundation laying ceremony was the outcome of an MoU signed between the state government and Dalmias at Delhi where the state government launched its new industrial policy to attract investors.

The four textiles units which were inaugurated included Kishore Exports, The Best Band, Shree Ganapati Creations and Valentia Apparel. During the inauguration of the unit, appointment letters were also distributed to those getting employment here. As many as 2000 including 95 percent from Jharkhand got appointment letters.

Industry secretary Pooja Singhal, on the occasion, said as many as 10,000 youths will get a job in the textile sector within six months.

Chief minister Soren, on the occasion, expressed his commitment to industrial growth in the state and gave an appeal to industrialists to ensure optimum use of land provided to them and do not leave it vacant to allow encroachment.

Soren was of the opinion that landowners provide their land with an expectation of getting job opportunities and it is expected from industrialists to fulfill their expectations.
