Ranchi: The Jharkhand Finance Department has issued an official directive stating that employees will only be eligible for annual salary increments if they pass the Hindi Noting and Drafting Examination or the Hindi Reading and Writing Test.

The order specifies that if an employee fails to clear the Hindi exam, their salary increment will be withheld. Additionally, if an increment is granted and later it is discovered that the employee did not pass the Hindi test, the increment will be revoked.

Additional Provisions in the Order

The directive also mandates that if an employee receives a salary hike without clearing the Hindi exam, their increment will be annulled for pension calculations.

Furthermore, heads of offices are required to verify service records of employees and certify that the necessary examinations have been cleared.

The move aims to enhance Hindi proficiency among government employees and ensure compliance with language policies in administrative work.
