Jharkhand Government simplifies application form to get Covid grant

Daltonganj, Dec. 11: Grant claimants for Covid-related deaths in Jharkhand are no longer required to fill out lengthy application forms. In this regard, the Jharkhand State Disaster Management Authority (JSDMA) has released a new simple application form.

While filling the form, the claimant has to provide information about his or her relationship to the person who is alleged to have died of Covid. They must also provide the date and location of the person’s death from covid. The deceased’s death certificate must also be shown.

The claimant’s bank account number, the name of the bank, and the branch location with IFSC code and MICR are all required to be filled out on the form.

The Circle Officer (CO) will check the claim against the attached documents and papers before accepting or rejecting it.

The state government has established a covid death ascertaining committee to review claims for relief in the case of covid-related deaths.

The application form is straightforward, according to Amitabh Kaushal, Secretary of the state disaster management department, and claimants would not have to rush to finish it out.

Covid has claimed the lives of 5,133 people in the State.

Notably, the next of kin of the deceased person’s family would receive Rs. 50,000. The state disaster management agency will be bearing a total of Rs.25,66,50,000 for granting this Covid-aid.

In Palamu, Garhwa, and Latehar, there have been 110, 94, and 57 covid-related deaths, respectively.

Ranchi has the largest number of casualties, with 1,585 reported. Covid has claimed the lives of 286 people in Bokaro and 230 people in Giridih.

Only one district in Jharkhand, Pakur, has a covid casualty rate of 12 percent, the lowest in the state. Sahibganj has 42 , Dumka 47 and holy district Deoghar has 113 deaths by covid.
