Jharkhand HC Judge Aparesh Kumar Singh appointed as Chief Justice of Tripura HC

New Delhi, April 11: The Ministry of Law and Justice on Tuesday notified the appointment of Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh, Judge of Jharkhand High Court as Chief Justice of Tripura High Court.

“As per the relevant provisions under the Constitution of India, President of India has appointed Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh, Judge of Jharkhand High Court as the Chief Justice of Tripura High Court,” Kiren Rijiju tweeted.

Earlier, on February, the Supreme Court collegium has recommended Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh, the senior most judge of the Jharkhand High Court, as Chief Justice of the Tripura High Court.

Born on 7th July, 1965, Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh passed B.A. Honours and obtained his L.L.B Degree from University of Delhi.

He enrolled as a lawyer in 1990, working in the Patna High Court from 1990 to 2000, and the High Court of Jharkhand from 2001 till he was elevated to Judge of the High Court of Jharkhand.

He was confirmed as a permanent judge of the Jharkhand High Court on January 16, 2014, after being appointed as an additional judge on January 24, 2012.

From April 2021, Justice Singh also served as the executive chairman of the Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority. From December 20, 2022, until February 19, 2023, he served as the High Court of Jharkhand’s acting Chief Justice.
